Brookfield Asset Management has announced an investment of up to Skr95bn ($10bn) to bolster AI infrastructure development in Sweden.
The investment will focus on establishing a new “large” AI centre in Strangnas, designed to serve as a critical infrastructure asset supporting the country’s AI strategy.
Brookfield has secured a land allocation agreement for approximately 350,000m², enabling the data centre site to expand its capacity from 300MW to 750MW.
Claimed to be the first of its kind in Sweden and among the first in Europe, the facility is expected to create more than 1,000 permanent jobs and an additional 2,000 jobs during its 10–15-year construction phase.
